NELYADI: The spirit of Kerala’s glorious harvest festival is set to fill Nelyadi with joy and harmony as the Karnataka Nair Service Society (KNSS) Nelyadi Karayogam prepares for its much-awaited annual Onam celebrations. Scheduled for Sunday, 23rd August 2026, at the prestigious Sabareesha Kalamandira, the event promises a rich showcase of culture, heritage, and communal bonding.
A Day Packed with Traditional Festivities
The celebrations will commence early in the morning with the official inauguration at 8:45 AM, followed by the vibrant ಪೂಕಳ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ (Pookkalam flower carpet competition) at 9:00 AM. Members of all age groups are expected to participate enthusiastically, crafting intricate floral patterns that symbolize unity and welcome.
Following the morning competitions, an inspiring Onam message and felicitation address will be delivered at 10:30 AM. A key highlight of the morning session will be the Pratibha Puraskaram, where high-achieving students and community talents will be honored for their academic and extracurricular excellence.
